Future of Finance with Fintech Developments

This book offers detailed information to readers who are particularly interested in learning the most recent changes and various fintech applications in financial industries. There has been a fast growing application of financial technology in finance worldwide during recent years. This adoption covers all sectors of finance including stock markets, insurance companies as well as banks. In particular banks made huge investments in fintech, which can be accepted as a sign of their substantial growth expectations in the sector. Even though the fast pace of change in fintech applications is an interesting research topic, identifying and evaluating its impact on financial sectors is challenging.Fintech has the potential to lower barriers of entry to the financial services market and elevate the role of data as a key commodity, and drive the emergence of new business models. As a result, the scope and nature of banks’ risks and activities are rapidly changing and rules governing them may need to evolve as well. These developments may indeed prove to be more disruptive than previous changes in the banking industry. By providing a strong background information on fintech, its evaluation, growth, widening applications of various products and risk management, this book aims to present several scenarios and assess potential future impact of fintech on the financial industry. Across the various scenarios, maintaining the current operating business models of financial institutions seems increasingly difficult with the developing fintech applications and changing customer expectations.
